‘Doctor, I let you go’ are such wonderful words to end an era with. they’re so accepting and humble, and open, they hold no grudge and leave no bitter aftertaste. they acknowledge the change and embrace it, they stand in front of the new chapter and open the door to let the future in.
and that’s how the Doctor - and the whole team who made the show - should be sent off: with dignity and welcoming to the people who come after them.
